OVERDRIVE car and track maintenance
Tire Replacement
This article briefly outlines the steps for physically replacing old Overdrive tires with new tires.
- Hold car right side up, with the back of the car to the right (or left if you’re left handed)
- Place forefinger and thumb on the bottom of the rear tire, apply gentle pressure and slide the tire off of the hub. Place aside.
- Rotate the car so that the opposite rear tire is in front of you and then repeat Step 2.
- Take one of the new tires and slip it on the rear hub facing you. Ensure that the tire is centered on the hub.
- Rotate the car so that the opposite rear tire is in front of you and then repeat Step 4.
- Test the car on the track to make sure that you are a screaming demon once again!
Where to buy tires and spare parts
Consumable parts, such as tires, are available from the ANKI site. Currently, ANKI offers tires only, which are sold here. Check the product page to see if they are in stock.
Batteries
Vehicle parts including batteries are not user serviceable and therefore not available. Please contact us via email at support@anki.bot for troubleshooting cars.
Cleaning your cars and track

Our recommended method for cleaning each part is listed below:
Rear Tires on the cars
Clean the rear tires using the included Tire cleaner. Open the tire cleaner and run the rear tires on the sticky surface.
Cleaning the tire cleaner
After repeated use, the tire cleaner will become less effective. To clean the tire cleaner, open the tire cleaner and run the cleaning surface under cool running water. To remove the dust build up, rub your finger over the sticky surface. If necessary you can use a little bit of unscented soap to lather the cleaning surface. Be sure to rinse the cleaning surface thoroughly. Once finished, let the tire cleaner air dry.
Track pieces
Only the black racing surface of the track piece need to be cleaned. Clean the track using a dry dusting sheet such as dry Swiffer sheets or a clean dry microfiber cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive material such as paper towels or other paper cleaning product. Doing so may damage the track surface.

Turning a vehicle off and the power button
This FAQ explains how to turn off your Supercar or Supertruck. Please note that powercycling or resetting the vehicle is not possible.
Where is the Power Button?
- You will find the grey power button on the underneath of each Supercar and Supertruck

What does the Power button do?
- Pressing the power button once turns the vehicle off or on
- Placing the vehicle on the included charging platform also turns it on
- Pressing the power button 5 times in rapid succession puts the vehicle in Drone Mode. Placing the vehicle on the track in Drone Mode can help test vehicle performance
Charging vehicles and battery life
OVERDRIVE vehicles should have approximately 12 minutes of playtime after a full 10-minute charge using the supplied charging platform and adapter.
Battery duration depends on gameplay. Similar to real battery-powered vehicles, driving at higher speeds or accelerating will result in shorter play sessions.
As with all electronics, the battery is perishable and the capacity will shorten the more charges and discharges the vehicle has.
If you notice significant differences between your vehicles, please follow these steps:
- Always charge the vehicles using the supplied charging platform and adapter
- Make sure the USB cable is fully plugged in to the adapter and plug the adapter directly into a wall socket. This will ensure the vehicles receive enough amperage
- Turn the vehicle off using the grey button on the underneath
- Place the vehicle on the charging platform to turn it on
- If the vehicle is NOT receiving a charge (= flashing green LED) after having sat on the platform for at least 5 minutes, clean the contacts on the bottom of the vehicle and on the charging platform
- Charge the vehicle until the flashing light goes solid green – this should take approximately 10 minutes from a discharged state. Note it may take up to 5 minutes before the vehicle’s top light starts to flash green
- If only one of the vehicles is experiencing short battery life issues, try charging that vehicle on a different slot on the charging platform. If this improves battery life the problem is probably caused by a defective charging spot on the platform
If none of the above steps helped, please contact us with the following information:
1) How long do the vehicles run on a fully-charged battery (= Green solid LED):
- Put car(s) in "drone mode" by turning it off before pressing the grey button underneath 5 times in rapid succession
- Your vehicle's LED's should now flash in different colors and the vehicle should drive as soon as you put it on the track
- Please stop the time it drives before running out of battery
2) The LED color when:
- car is being put on the charging platform
- car is taken out of the charging platform
Storing your vehicles
This FAQ provides guidelines on how to store your OVERDRIVE or OVERDRIVE: Fast & Furious Edition vehicles properly. These guidelines apply for long-term storage (more than 2 weeks).
- While playing OVERDRIVE, you may leave the vehicles on the supplied charging platform
- When not playing, you may store vehicles on the supplied charging platform which should not be connected to a power source
- Fully charge your vehicles and turn them off using the grey button on the underneath of the vehicle before storing for long amounts of time
- If storing for long periods, we recommend fully charging the vehicles every 6 months
- For further guidelines on battery life and charging vehicles properly, see this FAQ
- For short-term storage, there are no specific recommendations
