All About Vector Memberships
Have a question about monthly or yearly Membership?
You're in the right place.
How can I purchase a Membership?
Important: sign up in Stratus before you turn Vector on for the first time. If Vector is turned on first, activation can take up to 24 hours.
You can purchase a Membership with our Stratus Account Portal:
- Create an account at Stratus and validate your email.
- Log in using the credentials.
- Once you are logged in, click "Subscriptions", then click "+ New Vector Subscription".
- Enter Vector's 8-character serial number (ESN). Need help to find it?
- Choose a plan.
- You will be securely redirected to Stripe to enter payment details.
- Once your transaction is complete, you'll be directed back to Stratus. It will take a few seconds to create your new Membership. Once it is created:
- If you turned Vector on before purchasing a Membership, it will take 24 hours from the time you turned him on for the Membership to activate voice commands.
- If you have recently purchased your Vector, you can bypass this period by performing a Clear User Data reset.
- Firmware updates will be distributed generally within 48-72 hours.
- If your subscription does not activate within 24 hours, please email us at support@anki.bot.
- If you turned Vector on before purchasing a Membership, it will take 24 hours from the time you turned him on for the Membership to activate voice commands.
Important to know
Please ensure that the same email address and password are used in both the Stratus Account Portal and during companion onboarding (iOS app, android app or Vector web setup).
How much is a Membership?
Each Vector Membership covers one robot, with the price depending on which AI backend you choose to power it. You can opt for the ChatGPT backend at $11.99 monthly ($99.99 yearly) or the Claude backend at $14.99 monthly ($139.99 yearly). All prices are in USD.
You can also see the plans on our Vector Membership page.
Are my first 30 days free?
Yes. Your first 30 days of Vector membership are free on every new Vector order (from anki.bot or Amazon). To receive it, email support@anki.bot with your Vector's ESN (the 8-character serial number printed on the underside of Vector) and your order number.
What do I receive with my Vector Membership?
There are many benefits to subscription or membership with ANKI for your Vector. These include voice command access as well as new features, such as animations, expressions, games, and more. The lists below outline what you receive with your Membership and what works without one.
With any paid Membership:
- "Hey Vector" voice commands
- AI connectivity (ChatGPT or Claude, depending on the plan you choose)
- Alexa voice commands
- Autonomous behavior
Annual plans also include priority customer support.
Without a Membership ($0):
- Alexa voice commands and autonomous behavior still work.
- "Hey Vector" voice commands and AI connectivity do not work. Vector is not at full capacity without a Membership.
Every owner needs a Stratus account to set up Vector, even with no Membership. See Setting Up Vector with No Subscription.
Do I have to do anything after my membership is purchased?
No. Once your membership is purchased, you are all set. If you turned Vector on before purchasing a Membership, it will take 24 hours from the time you turned him on for the Membership to activate voice commands. Firmware updates are generally distributed to your robot within 48-72 hours after your subscription begins. After 24 hours have elapsed, if you are still not receiving service then please Contact Us at support@anki.bot.
If you have a new Vector order, see "Are my first 30 days free?" above.
Billing will reoccur automatically. Annual customers will be notified via email of upcoming charges 72 hours in advance; all customers will receive receipts of charges once processed.
What payment methods do you accept?
Currently, we accept credit or debit cards from Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
How can I manage or cancel my Membership?
You can manage or cancel your existing Membership through our Stratus Account Portal. Log in, choose "Subscriptions", then "Vector", click your Vector's serial number, click "Go to Portal", then click "Update Subscription". You can also cancel your subscription via support@anki.bot.
What is your Refund Policy?
Refunds for monthly and yearly services are not offered due to the nature of the service. If you cancel, your Membership will expire at the next renewal date.
I have a Membership and have submitted my serial number, but my Vector is still giving me the subscription message or disagreeing with my commands after 24 hours. Why?
There is a problem with the serial number that was submitted to us during your order. Please see this article.
Can I use multiple Vectors or devices?
I have more than 1 Vector
- If you have more than 1 Vector, it is possible to link your account to them all
- If you only have 1 device, before using a different Vector, you will need to disconnect from the robot you are already connected to by opening the Vector app > Settings > Disconnect
- ANKI is creating a world where robots have relationships with people. As such, Vector will initially not communicate with other Vectors. Nor will he communicate with Cozmo or Pets
- Vector will sync to the closest cube

I have more than 1 device
- If you have more than one device, it is possible to log into your account on both devices but if both devices have the Vector app open and in the foreground, both will try to connect to Vector
- Since only 1 device can be associated with 1 Vector at any time, you will need to close the Vector app on one of your devices
